In a letter sent to 80 national and international financial institutions, Coalizão Florestas & Finanças, together with the Articulation of Indigenous Peoples of Brazil – Apib, Climate Observatory and 45 other partner organizations, warned about the risks of investments in Brazil in view of the set of legislative changes underway in the Brazilian Congress. If approved, these changes will result in irreversible consequences for the protection of critical ecosystems (such as the Amazon forest, Pantanal and Cerrado) and for the guarantee of the rights of indigenous peoples, representing for many institutions serious risks to their operations in Brazil.

The Coalition’s alert aims to pressure these institutions to publicly position themselves against the setbacks, and to raise awareness among partners and companies that rely on their financing and operate in Brazil.
