The OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) included documents that formalized or initiated negotiations for Brazil’s entry into an entity with obligations to reduce deforestation and climate change mitigation measures provided for in the Paris agreement.

In the unannounced letter of invitation to countries, obtained by Folha, the members of the OECD council emphasize that two countries with targets for reducing deforestation and loss of biodiversity must be considered or compromised in the evaluation to authorize entry into the entity.
