The influence of company sourcing patterns on the adoption and effectiveness of zero-deforestation commitments in Brazil’s soy supply chain

The study looks into the relationship between the characteristics of supply patterns that can influence the adoption and potential effectiveness of zero deforestation commitments signed by companies that purchase agricultural commodities with high environmental risk. When analyzing data from 2004 to 2017, researchers were able to conclude that, despite the greater number of zero deforestation commitments, other strategies must be adopted to increase the effectiveness of the agreements.
