The financial market analyst firm Trase has published a public policy briefing that highlights opportunities to strengthen the proposed EU regulation to ban the import of agricultural commodities such as soy, beef and palm oil produced on land deforested after the year of 2020
According to the researchers, with careful implementation, due diligence mechanisms have the potential not only to achieve their goal of cleaning up supply chains, but also to support efforts to reduce commodity-driven deforestation and raise consumer market standards across the board the world.
